About Us:
Thank you for inquiring about our Clarisma K9s. Our dogs are all AKC registered, passed all health clearances, proven with titles by actively competing in conformation shows and obedience trials. I have been working with and training many breeds including but not limited to: Rottweilers, Belgian Malinois, Labradors, German Shepherds, etc… Over the years, I made a decision on the breed(s) that were right for our family. We have 2 young children and wanted the perfect family dog that was versatile along with a good family protection dog. We decided on the Labrador Retriever and Belgian Malinois as the right fit for our family and two breeds that I personally have always been very fond of. We are only a hobby breeder and only produce a few litters each year. Each breeding we evaluate all the puppies and possibly keep a puppy as our next show prospect. As a Preservation Breeder, we only breed with the betterment of the breed in mind. All breedings are to the breed standard for conformation, temperament & health. We mostly use outside studs in our breeding program. This is to better each generation and bring in traits that we want to add into our lines.
How the Puppies are raised:
Raised on Puppy Culture with our own twist from our training and behavioral knowledge
ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) days 3-16
Socialization with our older dogs, bunny, kids and immediate family
Desentization to objects, textures and surfaces & loud noises such as thunderstorms, sirens, dump trucks, musical instruments etc
Crate training is introduced around 6.5-7 weeks of age to make the transition into their new home easier on them and their new families.
Start the house breaking routine by:
2 weeks: adding pee pads in half the box
2.5-3 weeks: replace pads with turf
3-4 weeks: we start increasing the whelping box size (1/2 turf and 1/2 play/sleep area
4-5 weeks: give them a potty area that takes up less space
5+ weeks: They go outside and inside. When they are inside they have their turf potty area setup as well, but start learning to go outside to potty.
By 8 weeks of age when they go home, the majority of the pups are well on their way for house breaking success and easy to follow into their new house training routine with their families as they already have an understanding of the crate and concept to go outside to potty. Of course, it is important for their new homes to continue their training for long term success.
Health:
Puppies are dewormed at 2, 4, 6 & 8 weeks of age.
We use Pyrantel at 2, 4 and 8 weeks & Panacur at 6 weeks of age for optimal protection.
NeoPar Vaccine at 6 weeks for added Parvo protection.
All puppies go home at 8+ weeks with a health certificate from our Veterinarian which includes their first set of vaccs (DHPP), dewormed, negative fecal & health check.
